Hi, I have a dog who was diagnosed with diabeties incipidus. Aparently a very rare form (water diabeties) The medication is really expensive to treat him with (£110 per month!) after all the initial tests for organ failure.... and we pay for it ourselves due to him being an older pedigree dog 8+ insurance is not really an option... luckily after a bit of digging i found a much cheaper alternative from the chemist (not the vets) which costs less than half that price. My vet is great and writes a perscription to collect from chemist..
Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this diabeties in dogs and what the best treatment they found was...
I know he will be on medication for the rest of his life but we wouldnt change him for the world.... he was a rescue

the only dealings i have seen of this was a collie, he was around 8 months old when it started. and is about a year old now. he was prescribed DDAVP drops, but devloped a fear of these ( poor fella) and is now on the tablets, which are much more expensive.he is doing great on them and luckily, the owners have him insured.0
