It will tell you in the instruction book. But just to clarify, its a big no no. They spin very very fast and are rated differently so just take the 110mm ones back.
Also, if you've never used one this size before, watch out for the gyro effect, it can (on some models) be quite scary when you lift it off the work piece.

Your 230mm diamond disc will remain at that diameter for as long as you use it.
But silicone carbide (sc) discs reduce quite quickly in diameter as you use them.
The sc disc currently in my 9" grinder is down to about 160mm and I will use it right down as far as I can.
There is no reason why you should not use 110mm discs in a 230mm grinder apart from the considerable loss in depth of cut.
It is the other way around that should not be attempted i.e. using an unguarded 230mm disc in a 110/115mm grinder.
    Forgotten but not gone.

I think the rated speed is different and so is the central boss but I can't be sure.

The bore size is generally 22mm on both types of disc.
The small grinders are faster at about 9,000 to 11,000 rpm. The 9" grinders run at something like 6,600 rpm.
So , putting a large disc in a small grinder would exceed the disc's safe rated speed but a small disc in a 9" grinder would not.

In that case, I stand corrected. Thanks.
