My Main criteria are -
SMALL
MANY MPG (THE MORE THE MERRIER)
VERY CHEAP TO INSURE
LOW ROAD TAX
CAN BE BOUGHT FOR UNDER £1500 SECOND HAND ( OBVIOUSLY I'M NOT ASKING YOU TO RESEARCH SECOND HAND CAR PRICES TO HELP ME OUT, JUST MAKING YOU AWARE OF MY BUDGET).
Any Ideas?

If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x

I've had:
Ford Fiesta/Fiat Punto/Ford Focus - All fit your criteria
Currently I have a 1.4 51 plate ford focus - Brought for £1400 off ebay with 6 months MOT and tax. It's just SAILED (and i mean SAILED) through MOT (not even a single advisory!) can usually get 400 miles per tank (costs me £60 to fill) but thats city driving, can get further on motorway etc.
Insurance - obv depends upon your circumstances - I have 6 points, 5 years NCB and its approx £500 for year fully comp0 -
IDEAS? The nicest small car you can find within ten miles of where you live. When you have a small budget, don't look for a specific model. Don't waste time and petrol travelling far. If your buying from a dealer, better one close by if you need to take it back. Save a few hundred pounds from your budget for unexpected repairs.0

Skoda fabia and old toyota yaris should come within your price range.0

Thanks for the replies so far...
Looking in to the option you've suggestedIf it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x0
