The opportunity

Are you a good listener? Do you have a love of animals? Have you experienced the loss of a pet? The Pet Bereavement Support Service is looking for support line volunteers who have experienced the loss of a companion animal and would like to offer emotional support and practical information through its telephone and email support line service. Full training given and volunteers work within own home.
The organisation

The Pet Bereavement Support Service is run by the animal charity, The Blue Cross and the Society for Companion Animal Studies. The Pet Bereavement Support Service provides emotional support and practical information for pet owners and others through its telephone and email support line service. Trained support line volunteers respond to callers throughout the UK.
Skills/Qualifications

Require volunteers with a warm and caring manner with really good listening skills. Must understand the importance of confidentiality and working as part of a team.
PC skills desirable but not essential.
Times you can volunteer:

  • Monday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
  • Tuesday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
  • Wednesday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
  • Thursday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
  • Friday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
  • Saturday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
  • Sunday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
