mortgage interest relief help!!

Hi, I have just found out that I am going to be made redundant. eek!!

As a single mom to a 4 year old, i think that i can claim income support and mortgage interest relief!! I could probably just about manage on this.

my question is, i might have the opportunity to retrain at the local nursery. i would be getting 90quid a week whilst i start as a junior assistant and work towards an nvq 2 in child care.

but if i take this option would i then not get mortgage interest relief, as i would then be classed as employed?? would i be better of being unemployed and getting income support?

its a bit of a downshift for me as i have been earning £27000 as a drug worker but the government are cutting staff everywhere in this and criminal justice sector!!

feeling lost

debs:(
