£15.99 would be too muich for £7.99 not bad although you can get a 4 battery charger for that online maybes slightly cheaper.
The Lidl prices seem good deal, pp3 aint normally cheap about a fiver, I have a couple from Ebay that I use in a smoke alarm. You can also get battery convertors from 7 dayshop which will convert AA to C battery etc.

I am happy with the aldi 4 for £1.99 packs. Batteries charge and work fine, although the end bit is a slightly funny shape.
The battery convertors poopycat mentioned are available 2 for £1 at the poundshop. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -

Bear in mind that since you'll be using lower capacity batteries though, they won't last as long as the proper size.Stompa0 -
Stompa do you mean if I use (think its 2xAA say 2500 mha each) that it wouldnt last as long as 1 C battery?0

you need to chech what MaH rating you need. Price will depend on this. For high drain items such as digicams you will need over 2000, for items such as home phones you can easily get away with 1000 or even 700. obviously th lower the rating the cheaper the price. to give you a rough idea you will get around 1000 charges from good quality batteries.
Hope this helps.
VickyThe glass is always half full, no exceptions !!:D
