Is it all a ploy?

My head hurts from trying to sift through all the switching options and so this thought turned up.

If the utility companies think that they are going to be examined by OFGEM then could they be raising prices heavily to encourage us to move to Fixed rates then they 'listen to OFGEM' drop variable prices but of course many people will be stuck on fixed rates.

My poor feverish mind.

  • I wouldn't put it past them.

This is one of the reasons I am not being swayed into fixing. I nearly did last week because it is all very persuasive. But no. I'm just going to keep to the cheapest online tariff available.

Fixing may be OK for some but I hate the scaremongering that goes on. And I am not going to play their game. Only time will tell if I miss out, but I doubt it based on past experience.

  • If David Icke said this people would dismiss it as the ramblings of a conspiracy theorist. We all know that whether or not this has been put in to action, it was certainly discussed by the big players! I think we all know a bit better now when seeing our bills rise in line with their bonuses.
