DIY Person in Sutton Coldfield area

Can anybody recommend a good DIY person in the Sutton Coldfield area. The job is to remove existing silicon around the outside of internal UPVC windows and replace with mould proof silicon (Tenant has not ventilated the place!) Also to rub down and paint existing cills and maybe paint a small bathroom with mould proof paint. We have had some ridiculous quotes through our letting agent - they seem to have large companies do the work who quote silly prices and then add VAT on top.

DIY = Do It Yourself, you're after a decorator or handy-man. Perhaps ratedpeople.com?

As ic says, what you are looking for is a handyman. The words DIY would infer that you would be doing it yourself. There is bound to be a handyman advertising locally in your area. It is likely that no-one else would consider it a big enough job to warrant their interest. But a handyman certainly would. When I used to do it I would always take the job, no matter how small, if I was sure that it was something that I could tackle. The high quotes that you have been getting are quite likely to be because the contractor does not actually want the job.
