Thomas Cook Price Promise

Good morning

Seen this in the news recently that if you can find the holiday cheaper else where they will give it to you free...obviously there must be a catch but i was wondering if anyone out there has any more info on this as the Thomas Cook website has nothing on it regarding this price promise...

It would also be nice to see if anyone has actually got them selves a free holiday out of it...I have my eyes on one at the moment which is identical but 100 pounds cheaper and i would like to test them out...any ideas?

You need to pick up a leaflet or something from the travel agent with the t&c's on. It doesnt sound the same as the usual price promise offered by ThomasCook but suppose the conditions will be the same
    Same flight
    Same Hotel/apartments and room type
    Same board
It will need to be indentical in ever way and still expect them to wriggle out of it

THE WEBSITE PROMISE SAYS THEY WILL MATCH THE PRICE AND GIVE YOU £50. Nothing about a freebe
  • I have just booked a holiday with ThomasCook TV.I rang to get a price off them after doing a bit of research on the net and I WAS happy with the price they gave me.BUT when i went onto the ThomasCook website to print off some pictures of the hotel,I put in our details and the holiday came up £85 cheaper. So as BOLTON says in the OP they advertise if they can't beat it they will give the holiday for free!Obviously they are never going to do this so I rang them and i was told had I got that price from first choice or Thomson then they would have honoured it but as it was themselves there was nothing they could do.After alot of toing and froing I eventually spoke to a manger who agreed to match the price of £2010! I was happy with that until I read this post tonight and now I'm annoyed again because they haven't done what their advert says either beat it or give it for free.I wonder what I should do now?

Put it all in writing to the head off quoting your original price and print out quotes if possible and a copy of the promise and se ewhat happens ..it cant hurt to try. Read the terms and conditions and make sure you have complied with all of them and good luck

Thanks, unfortunately this was last weekend but I haven't received my new price confirmation yet.I probably don't stand a chance but they haven't honoured their advert by beating the price only matching it so it could be worth a letter, thanks again for the advice.

i think the free holiday only applies to egypt. if you look at the t&c's it just says the difference

We saw the advert on the sky TV channel where they are saying it all the time, that was the problem they said if it was cheaper with anyone else then they would honour it but as it was themselves there was nothing they could do!!
