    Bind Us Together
Guide Me Oh Thou Great Redeamer
    Amazing Grace

As we signed the register the choir sang Ave Maria.

    We're having:

    Lord of all Hopefulness

Make Me a Channel of Your Peace

Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer

We're also having a gospel choir, they will be doing a mixture of religious and non religious songs:

Three songs while the congregation is arriving/before the service starts:

    Say a Little Prayer
    Higher & Higher
    Ain't No Stopping Us Now

One song for the entrance of the bride:

    Oh Happy Day

Two songs while the register is being signed:

    Ain't No Mountain High Enough

    Joyful Joyful

One song while we leave the church:

    Signed, Sealed, Delivered

  • I'm walking down the aisle to either pachelbels cannon or ave maria which will be played by guitarist

    Hymns are:

I vow to thee my country
    Love divine all loves excelling
    Here I am lord

The guitarist will play during signing of register then we will leave to widors toccata
  • yes i was given a list from vicor but i can only see one i hymn i like and thats Give me joy in my heart as i no everyone will know this from school so should get everyone singing. will have a listen to the ones everyone has suggested and see if i like the sound of them.

I think i want bruno mars just the way you are in string quartet for my entrance but need to check this would be ok. Think i will steal the sign sealed delivered from you jocstoke as just seeing it made me smile think if he says we cant have that for leaving the church then i will go for that to walk in to after do.

thanks everyone for your help will let you know how i get on x

The 3 hymns we are having are 'Lord of the Dance', 'One more step along the world I go' and 'Jerusalem.
I'm not sure what I'm coming into yet, possibly the Prince of Denmark's March played on trumpet and organ.
We're going out to the traditional Mendellsohns wedding march.
Haven't chosed signing the register music yet.

jocstoke, I'm hoping to have a gospel choir too. I adore gospel music, but my OH isn't convinced it's a good idea (but it's the one area I am refusing to budge on!). I love your song choices, especially the one when you leave the church. :)

Would you mind me asking how much you're paying? I've had some astonishingly expensive quotes so far...
  • My sister had Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace and Joy To The World (her wedding was in December so it felt appropriate to have a carol). I'm sure she had a third one as well but can't remember what it was...

My sisters' entrance, exit and register signing songs were:

Entrance: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba - Handel / The Prince of Denmark's March (aka Trumpet Voluntary) - Clarke. I think Pachelbel's Canon in D is nice too
Register signing: What A Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong / O mio babbino caro - Puccini
Exit: Wedding March from A Midsummer Night's Dream - Mendelssohn / La Rejouissance from Music for the Royal Fireworks - Handel

Personally I've always wanted a gorgeous piano piece called I Giorni as my wedding entrance music, and the first movement of Spring or Autumn from Vivaldi's Four Seasons for the exit - although part of me loves the idea of something like a really uptempo Beatles song.

I had the usual bridal march to enter, we had morning has broken as our first hymn (we had to have that as it was what my sister had at her wedding who sadly passed away 3 years ago so was one of my little ways of remembering her :)) the second was give me joy in my heart and exit to the wedding march.

I picked these hymns too because I wanted ones that everyone would know, could think of nothing worse than everyone being quiet! Our organist was absolutely fantastic, he seemed to jazz them up a bit and everyone commented on how jolly the hymns were :D
