Are train fares more expensive on a Friday?
I have been trying to get train tickets from Manchester to Cornwall for friends arriving from USA.
The first day they became available they were £55 each, within hours they had increased to £155 and more.
It seems like a right rip off? Flying is only £32, so I guess it's Flybe then.

The likelihood is that the allocation of cheaper tickets would have been snapped up early, especially by people going away for the weekend.
therefore that would leave a higher price tier or full price available.0 -
Walk on fares ie; Anytime, Off Peak or Super Off Peak are the same price whatever day of the week it is.
However, as Fridays and Sundays are the most popular travelling days, cheap Advance tickets do sell out quickly for those days of the week and this can happen many weeks in advance.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Does that include: Credit/Debit card surcharge, baggage surcharge, check-in surcharge, fuel surcharge, seat selection surcharge, boarding pass surcharge, security surcharge, priority boarding surcharge, extra leg room surcharge, excess surcharges surcharge - and taxes, of course ?
