Bacs - over the weekend?

I hope this is the right place for the thread.
I'm expecting some money through BACS (payment from fonebank)
They sent me an email on the 15th saying that they have paid me, and the money could take up to 48 hours to get to my account.
Well now it's it's the 18th and i'm kind of worried now that there may be something wrong, did they get my details mixed up? Anyway, my question is that with it just having been the weekend. Do sat and sun count as part of these 48 hours? or do I have to wait two days from now (monday morning)?
I know being worried about it is probably over-reacting as it's only £58 but I have NO income at all, and I've got £8 in savings, and almost nothing in the cupboards. so yeah i'm desperate.
tl:dr Do BACS transfers go on hold for the weekend? how long should I wait before asking if there's a problem/telling them I haven't been paid
I'm with halifax.

BACS run on a three working day cycle.
So if they sent the money via BACS on Friday, you're looking at Tuesday at the earliest*.
*There's the possibility that their bank processes BACS payments the next working day, e.g. requested on Friday, enters BACS cycle on Monday; processes Tuesday and credits Wednesday. So if you've not received anything by Wednesday, I'd contact the sender (Halifax have little/ nothing to do with it).Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
I only added that I was with halifax in case the working days differ.
Thanks very much, that's reassuring. I'll hold off checking my account until tomorrowand i'll wait till Wednesday, if nothing turns up, before I email them. I did think it was odd they said 48 hours for Bacs - as I though it was 3 days, but i've not had one before.
thanks againSaving for the future

48 hours suggests the payment entered the BACS cycle on Friday, which means it would credit your account on Tuesday (i.e. two working days later).
As you've said, hold off till Wednesday just to be sure.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
