Hi,
I've recently had a garage fit a new engine to my car and the bill was £1,750! I drove the car away and it was faulty, took it back and they don't want to know about it. (it had the engine management light on and the airbag light before I left their driveway!!!)
I've paid part of the bill but not it all (£750 left to pay).
I'm not going to pay the chunk of the bill that I owe as..
1. I've had to pay £200 in parts to fix their mess
2. It's taken 4 weeks to get it back on the road
3. A mechanic has charged me 6 hours labour to fix their mistakes
4. They've scratched the side of the car with something like a harsh abrasive trying to get some marks the made on the paintwork off!
I'm going to go in a talk to them tomorrow and wondered about the trading law? What is the year of the law about good/service and what should I detail in the letter written to them?
Any advice would be REALLY helpful,
Thanks

Not sure why you paid someone else to fix their faults? You should have taken it back and let them fix it correctly.0
