  • Back to school this week and loving the house back to normal :)

It also means we are back to debtbusting to see what we can get shot of before Chrimbo. Today HSBC card becomes zero :D One down, plenty more to plod on with. I've set just two challenges to keep me on my toes until then - 1. to get the grocery budget and meal planning under control and 2. no clothes or shoes spending  which is unfortunate because I really like all this mod fashion that's out and about in the shops. I've already got my eyes on a M&S handbag. I think I need to set up a mini savings pot to see if I can get it as my Chrimbo pressie.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Youngest boy went out to spend his birthday money today - spent all afternoon playing with some old fashioned plastic soldiers that cost 50p in a charity shop :)

I'm having a bit of a 'is it me' night. Just seen some ad showing a sports Tshirt or something - only £29! Yeh only £29! I'll have 3 at that price, not. I sometimes wonder at the madness that they try to make us believe in to part with our hard earned cash. That would pay half my gas and leccy bill this month.

Aww thats very cute Pen, its amazing how something so cheap can be the best gift. I hope he enjoys them for years to come. Oh no I am with you about the cost of things, the other day I saw a bag that I quite liked the look of in a magazine (someone buys Grazia (?) in work) and it wasn't until I saw the price that I then thought, ummm maybe not. It was no bigger than a tote, had a few charms/ribbons and one small motif, they wanted £75  No way!
  • Hi Pap, hope you are well x

I just don't know where retailers think we are getting the money from (well I do - the old credit card!). I really don't think the penny has dropped with them yet that most of us are skint.
