Hi all
ive a question about warranty, ive a tv bought apr 2010 which was now developed a video problem, it has sound ok but no picture no matter the sorce (ie tv hdmi inbuilt dvd etc).
Before i ring on monday is there any chance sainsburys (where it was bought) might cover it under warranty (unlikely) and if not is there any consumer rights i can quote or can i use european law that has a longer warranty than 12 months?

thanks for any help
(sorry if this has been discussed b4)

If it was bought in April 2011 it will be covered under warranty.

April 2011 is only three months away.

Anyway, Sainsburys will probably not be interested in a warranty issue.
Warranties are usually offered by manufacturers, not often the retailer.

You need to explore the Sale of Goods Act.

Check your documentation. My tv came with a 3 year warranty.

If not, do you still have proof of purchase? Technically it is up to sainsburys and not the manufacturer. However they may require proof that the fault was inherent and not the result of overuse/misuse.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
