Do we need architect, if not where do we start with (eco) house renovations?

If you are planning to renovate your house then it is better to take the help of an architect especially for designing the bathroom and kitchen. For bathroom tools it is recommended to go for products manufactured from well known producers for quality and durability.0

Oh thanks so much for all your comments. I'll look at the things suggested by Canucklehead later - thanks.
Have been engrossed in reading and watching videos about an "ecotect" (not an architect!) called Paul Leech. That's the way to go I think......Our house is in an absolutely gorgeous position and has some beautiful features since it was built in an old fashioned style for a lady exactly 100 years ago. The walls are almost 2' thick, the original windows are characterful, the reception hall looks like it's been in existence for at least 200 years, there is a balcony off our bedroom with views over sea and mountains, the views from every window are beautiful, there's nearly 2 acres of gardens / woodland.......it's worth making it more comfortable to live / work in. We have no intention of ever moving, and our son is hoping to inherit the house one day......0 -

But if it was done without PP, chances are there is no paperwork and you can't prove when it was done. That was the case with the property I viewed. So I would have had to sit tight for 4 years keeping shtum. Plus there is also the argument that if it was done without PP, there is a possibility that it is unsafe, or at least flouts building regulations. The loft conversion I saw was appalling. And the staircase to the loft was steep and narrow, very dangerous.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
Good evening: I neglected to add the Planning Portal to my recommendations....an excellent source of info on all things building related.
