    Yup, well done Darren!

Now could he go and box Rory's ears!? !!!!!! was he thinking in that interview... THE Open isn't important enough for him to change his game and play differently in order to try and win?! Our new golden boy... whether he is going to do it or not, you don't tell the population that their home major isn't that important!!
    Always overestimating...

Have you been in Portrush recently..... Me thinks they would need a !!!!!! load of money to bring that place up to scratch. I used to Holiday there regularly as a child with my parents and having return to Northern Ireland a few years ago now I went to Portrush for a weekend with my wife and family. I was gobsmacked to see how run down the place was! It was like the place had been left to decay for the past 15 years since I’d last been there.... I couldn’t believe it.... What they were finishing off around the Strand was nice but up through the town itself it was (and probably still is) completely blighted by empty boarded up properties and then there’s that eyesore of the old Metropole building....

Coleraine District Council or whoever it falls under really need to get their fingers out!!

I agree. Although originally from Portstewart, I now live in Belfast, and hadn't really been in Portrush a great deal in recent times until the past few weeks. I brought a mate who is a Pro and a few members of his Club to play at Portrush and Portstewart last month and going along Kerr Street opposite Barry's, we were all rather shocked at the run-down buildings. It really does need a cash injection into many parts of the town. Pity it is in such a bad way as it does have one of the one of the very best restaurant complexes you will find anywhere, one of the world's best golf courses and one of Europe's best entertainment complexes. It really should be in a better way....!

Anyway, Clarke's success was fantastic. To think that we have 3 major winners within the last 13 months from a country with a 1.7
million population is simply incredible. Golf: Putting NI on the map for all the RIGHT reasons. :T  :T

A couple I know were in the Bayview having a meal the other night (Monday?) when in came Darren, family and friends. He was very chatty and friendly with everyone and had a few pints of Guinness. The claret jug was left on his table for anyone to see, inspect and have photos taken with.
All this and no extra charge!
