He's a cool three million better off now! That's a combination of prize money and a golden cough by his sponsors who only pay up when he wins something. Money aside it's fabulous for him, his name will go down in history along with Graeme and Rory.0

Another great win for Ireland.
Padraig, Rory, Graeme and now Darren all winning majors within the last five years.0 -

Would probably be a good investment if the money could be scraped together to try and get an Open to Royal Portrush or Royal Co Down in the very near future while we're on fire. It could be at least another few weeks till we win another major0

Have you been in Portrush recently..... Me thinks they would need a !!!!!! load of money to bring that place up to scratch. I used to Holiday there regularly as a child with my parents and having return to Northern Ireland a few years ago now I went to Portrush for a weekend with my wife and family. I was gobsmacked to see how run down the place was! It was like the place had been left to decay for the past 15 years since I’d last been there.... I couldn’t believe it.... What they were finishing off around the Strand was nice but up through the town itself it was (and probably still is) completely blighted by empty boarded up properties and then there’s that eyesore of the old Metropole building....
Coleraine District Council or whoever it falls under really need to get their fingers out!!0 -

Yep 2 or 3 weeks till the US PGA, Must be GMAC's turn again:)
Great to see a true gentleman finally get his due reward :T
This won't do ticket sales for the Irish Open this week any harm, he has promised to be there, but couldn't promise to be sober:rotfl:
The R&A have promised to re-look at Our Wee Country again for the Open, Portrush did host the Senior's Open a few years back and it went off well by all accounts, but as others have said major inward investment would be needed in the town, Royal Co. Down would have the edge for it's proximity to the big smoke.
The World Home of Golf should have it's own competition :TI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
