If he needs the 2 jabs then you should be able to pay for the 1st at that visit and the 2nd at the follow up visit (which would mean roughly 2 x £35 if that helps).
Mine don't "advertise" the fact you can do this but they will if you ask (you're entitled to pay for the treatment you've received and not for treatment you've not yet had).
Might be worth doing a search around near you - there used to be a fantastic place in Edinburgh: all they did was neutering & vaccines so it was a tiny place (but clean etc) which kept the overheads down and it was literally 1/2 the price of a "normal" vets.
There's a list of low cost neutering clinics on the attached - they may do vaccines cheaper too http://www.catchat.org/neuter.htmlGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250

Thank you very much for the tips. There is only one on there in Essex, and it's nowhere near me. I'm in Colchester, Essex.rising_from_the_ashes wrote: »Is this within travelling distance? http://www.vets4pets.com/practice.asp?dbid=91
Sadly not, quite far. I can only drive 20 minutes tops due to a spinal problem, so I don't mean to be fussy. Plus he wasn't very happy in the car today."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Another update - sorry, I'm sure you're all bored!
Picked him up this afternoon and he was quite freaked out (the vets words). I got him home and put him in the cat pen to calm down and have some food, and then I opened the door. He has been jumping between my mum and I, loving all the affection. If we stop stroking him he headbutts us until we continue. He's still jumpy/nervous, but I can see him settling down very well.
One problem - I bought him a collar, and can't see to work out how to put it on. I think maybe it's too small? It doesn't seem to clip on comfortably.
I expected him to be groggy/in pain, but he seems completely fun and lovely. Really happy with my new pet!
P.S. He hasn't sprayed yet - baring in mind he did it constantly before the snip, so have all my fingers crossed."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

Not all all bored! Love hearing how he's getting on.
Glad it went well today & he's bouncing around!:D Even better news about the spraying:j (he'll be getting used to the smells around your house now so is bound to be feeling more secure).
One of mine's a "headbutter" - really funny, makes me laugh every time and he's nearly 6!
Why do you want to put a collar on him?
Personally, I never put collars on mine as they both go out and love climbing etc if he's been fending for himself for a while, it's likely that he'll always want to go outside and enjoy himself! - the "breakable" ones that you should use with cats that go out, well, just break constantly so it's not worth it IMHO.
Really pleased to hear he's settling in so well.:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thank you!
I guess the thought with the collar was to make him 'officially' mine!
