Hi,
Could someone give me some advice please re an outside light by the front door.
I want to replace the one that's been there for years, which is rusted etc. and I went to Homebase today to look at some. After umming and aahing for ages I found one which I've bought.
However, now I'm home I'm not sure which height would be acceptable to have it at. It won't be at the same height as the other one as the light comes downwards from the base, whereas the current one's goes upwards (if that makes sense).
I'm worried about someone like the postman bashing his head on it as it comes out a bit more than the other one too - and I don't want to get sued! Our front door is on the side so anyone approaching the front door to put something through will have to pass by the lamp, but wouldn't knock into it unless they were close to the wall. (This is very difficult to explain on here!)
Would 6ft from the ground be an acceptable height?
To be honest, I'd be grateful for any thoughts about this. I can always take it back to Homebase.
Many thanks.

The bottom of the fitting should be at the very least the height of a door, which is normally 2meters. Anything lower and you are just asking for someone to bash their head on it.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

You can, but you've no legal right to a refund-they will give a refund or an exchange within 30 days at their discretion. This is store policy and not required by law.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
