Best way to clean a driveway PROPERLY

Options
Hi,

Our driveway looks like this:

drive.png

Except that it is much older, dirty, and has weeds growing on it. Neglected basically. :o

I stored bags of horse manure and straw on a corner of this drive for a few months (for the garden). When I finally moved the bags, and after the rain had chance to wash all the !!!! away :), I was amazed. That part of the drive looked like it had just been paved with new stone and cement, it was 10 shades lighter than the rest of the drive, and it still is many months on.

So, horse manure does a miracle job of cleaning a driveway. I'd like to get the rest of the drive looking as good. I can't spread muck all over it though.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a strong driveway cleaner or suitable chemical? I basically want industrial strength. Something that's definitely going to do a good job of reviving a driveway that hasn't been cleaned for 15 years.

TIA

Can't you just use a power washer? If you do it right, it will come up sparkling.

The acid in the horse manure cleaned it. Pressure washer would probably be best, could be expensive or very frustrating for you if it knocks all the pointing out of that crazy paving though.
You could also try buying some acid from a builders merchant, test it on a corner first to make sure it isn't going to damage your driveway.

u can get good chemical cleaners but the cheapest most eco-friendly is water and elbow grease

so either bucket of water (maybe dash of stardrops) and a good hard yard brush

or as mentioned earlier - a pressure washer - but then u will no doubt need to reseal/cement ur crazy paving as after the years u mention the cement will be ready for maintenance anyhow
