Ferry Trip on the Clyde - Which one is best?

We're holidaying in the west of Scotland this year and want to do a day trip on one of the Clyde Ferries. There's me and my hubby and 2 kids, aged 9 and 6, so out of the following ferry routes which is the best option to choose without a car (will park up rather than paying high costs on the ferry for the car)
Gourock to Dunoon or Hunters Quay
Weymss Bay to Rothesay
Largs to Millport
Brodick to Ardrossan
Grateful for any advice.

Have you thought about a trip on the Waverly - it is fabulous and depending when you are going you can go to Rothsey for the highland games - that is a fabulous day out x0

We're going on August the 29th for 4 days. Where does the Waverley pick up from?0

Largs to Millport isnt a very long trip - 10 mins each way i think0

Different trips go from diff places - but helensburgh, glasgow, gourock, rothsey all regularly feature on their trips - HTH x0 -
Sounded a good idea but just had a quick look and their last Scotland trip is on 29th August, the day we get there.0

Thats such a shame - it is the last sea going paddle steamer and it looks like this will be its last year as it is getting too expensive to run. It is a lovely way to spend a day and I have done it many many times.0

The Rothesay ferry takes about 30-40 mins, the Arran ferry takes about 1 hour, Millport 10 mins, Dunoon ferry takes about 20 mins, Personally I would go for the Rothesay trip as you arrive in the town and there is quite a few cafes, bars, shops etc.0
