Don't worry about topping - just make a simple sponge recipe: 8oz flour, 8oz sugar, 8oz marg and 4 eggs (for two sandwich tins or just halve the recipes if you only want to use one tin) - fill it with jam or just have it plain with a cup of tea, delicious!! If you have a lemon then just grate the rind and squeeze in the juice into the mixture.
If you are interested in extra income there are mystery shopper companies you can register with. The tasks they set you are very small to begin with and you can choose what you want to mystery shop i.e. place an order with a well known pizza company (if you live nearby) and they will pay for your pizza and pay you a fee for you completing an evaluation of the service you have received.... so you get your dinner free and get paid for it too!! The more assignments you do, the better the task sent to you.... you could end up going to hotels and getting a free nights stay somewhere..... nice treat and again, being paid for it!! You can do it from home too so it can fit in with your personal life and commitments.
If you go to the supermarkets late in the evenings on late on a sunday you can pick up brilliant deals. Also print off some of the money off coupons off this website of brands that you use - it might only be a pound here and there, but it all helps and adds up when you get to the checkout. Also, I work out my shop online before I go the store, otherwise I get tempted by all the offers and end up spending more money on things that I don't actually need.
Hope I'm not going on but I just know how much I appreciated practical tips on actually helping my situation. It makes such a difference when you feel you can take control of something.0 -
Don't forget to have a fumble down the back of the sofa/armchairs to see if you can track down your 20p.
Mmmmmmm...melted toblerone.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Guys, your motivation and ideas today have really made me feel so much better - thank you.
We had roast dinner today but DD2 is a vegetarian and was out when we had dinner but since she has come home she wanted to make tomato soup, luckily we had all the ingredients and we have been busy making some - well that got me motivated to make some home made bread rolls for tea tonight and going to eat them whilst they are still warm with some butter melted on them - yum!!!
DD1 has made some chocolate and chilli cookies this afternoon and they are absolutely lovely!!!
We can last until Wednesday without any money, we have food in the house and petrol in the car
Us non vegetarians work on a menu planner so we know what we are having every day but because DD2 is veggie, her's are a litle harder to plan although I do make her vegetable lasagne, toad in the hole (veggie sausages) and shepherds pie (quorn mince), macaroni cheese but have told her tonight that if she wants to do a meal plan, I will make sure we have all the ingredients in (obviously when I get paid) for her to be able to make food - she seems to think that is a great plan and has now covered the living room floor with cook books!!!
Kitchen that I spent an hour or so cleaning this morning (I tend to clean when I am stressed) looks like a bomb has hit it, but it's great that we are all mucking in and having fun making it messy!!
Again, thanks to you all - this site is fantastic for making you feel so much better about things - bit hugs to you all xx0 -
