I liked the comment from one of the judges: Lord Justice Waller, said that he had some "anxieties" about the case, and that "one has a feeling that the prosecution were probably ambushed by what happened in the putting of the case to the prosecution witnesses".
Buyer beware !!!

I stopped buying from curry's / dixons etc after they refused me on a price promise. It was the identical model as a local shop. I had already looked in town at the camera I wanted and had gone up to currys to see what their price was, it was a £150 more expensive, so to save me a trip back to town I asked for a price match. This was a £700 camera. The guy more or less called me a liar saying I had never seen it that cheap elsewhere and refused to ring the other shop to check. He was a complete idiot, as I was leaving the shop I heard him say to the manager I was just a time waster. I nearly ripped his head off.
An hour later I returned to Curry's with the exact same Digital Camera bought from the other retailer just to rub in their lost sale and have never stepped foot in the shop since. I did write to Curry's head office about the incident but they didn't seem to bothered about their staff upsetting Customer's, nor of their refusal to price match.0 -
I use Currys and Dixons etc for browsing only. After a very bad experience some years ago on a washing machine, I vowed never to buy from them again.
I find their “We refuse to be beaten on price” stickers quite laughable as they are almost invariably the highest prices you will ever see. My local Currys is beside an Argos store (Brooklands in Weybridge, Surrey for the locals) and it is full of those price promise stickers. Almost every item I have price checked recently has been cheaper in Argos, sometimes by quite a margin.
Use them to browse, examine and choose but take your business to a reasonably priced retailer or internet supplier. I realise that if everyone did that they would go out of business. Good riddance I say though I would feel sorry for the staff.0
