Tv aerial question - Please help

Options
I recently moved into a flat and found that the TV socket had no signal which means I cannot receive the terrestial channels.

Upon speaking the local aerial company they have adviced me to go for SKY as thats the easiest option.

As I am not looking to subscribe to SKY I was wondering if I could go for an indoor aerial from argos
Will this allow me to receive the regular channels including freeview(i have a freeview box and live in a freeview area)
Any suggestions gratefully accepted

Really depends on the reception in your vicinity?

Try this link (needs your post code) - and look at the suggested aerial ('antenna') type in the right end column of results :-

If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

It's very much a case of 'suck it and see'. Get your hands on an indoor aeriel (either borrow one from someone or get one from a charity shop or car boot sale) and try it out before buying an expensive one.
Is there any chance that you can follow the aeriel cable from the tv socket to see if there is an aeriel on the other end?? If not perhaps you can put one there and hopefully it should work.
I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Sky is not necessarily the easiest - are you in an urban area - if so you should be able to get tv reception easily - particularly with a digibox, however if you are in a fringe area then SKy may be the option - you don't need to subscribe - freesat http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/ is available for £150 - still £120 more than a digibox and small indoor aerial.
