Photo Printer?

I am looking to buy a TOP quality A4 photo printer & looking for advice on what to get? Has anyone any advice? I am doing a Digital Photography course in January, so looking for something that will reproduce top/good quality prints? I don't necessary need to print from the camera, as I do a bit of editing on the PC 1st.

Many thanks

Nicks

I am currently using an Epson R300 which provides excellent printing results for photos providing you use a decent quality stock paper.

Not too up on printers but your probably best looking for a photo printer which comprises of 6 or more seperate cartridges

Highly reccomend my Epson printer and I use compatible inks in it which I get for around £4.50 a set of 6 inks rather than buying the more expensive official inks

Do you find using good quality Epson paper is better?

    Hi Nicks

have you thought about getting an A3 printer ? as no doubt you will be showing your work ?

Would agree with slowen - the paper used has a major effect on the quality of the final print, but would disagree with slowen about the inks - especially if you are going to be showing your work - some printers come with photo blacks and other colours upto 8 colour tanks !

Sorry can't recomend an A4 but know the Epsom A3 1290(older) and 1800 are good printers.

For photo size prints I use Epson premuim glossy 10cm x 15cm which provides very good results and for A4 I have been using Fuji A4 satin finish paper which is also good

    My printer uses 6 cartridges
