Oh goodness, Hazyjo! Are you a psychologist!?:D

I can't deny that in some ways with our house completed, I would enjoy a project again, to turn the house into what I wanted......!

Shame money has to play such a big part though!:)

    Haha, I wish ;)

See it so much with mums... especially when their kids start growing up and school's on the horizon. Some want another baby, or to move, or run off with the gym instructor ;)

Maybe a hobby of some sort would suffice. Something you can do at home. Check out the comping boards on MSE. You'll be hooked once you win a few things. Horrendously time consuming, but very addictive!

    I understand your dilemma,

My initial thought is do not stretch, if your happy and secure finance wise, don't rock the boat. The size issue do you really need 5 bedrooms, happy memories are made from love and time spent with eac other, not having a bedroom each.

But at the same point, i also think that the market at the moment gives some an opportunity to jump up the ladder rather than move slowley, these chances only come round maybe every 20 years. We have always been prudent and our mortgage is 10% of our combined income, we have always repaid and we own maybe 80% capital in our house. My heart is saying take a risk and find a dream house and pay more, but my brain is saying no, live prudent and have less worry.

But i will say, i do regret not taking more of a risk and buying a higher price house on both of our last two moves.

A big thanks to all the comp posters for their effort

Hmmm.....maybe I should join the gym after all....!;)

Definitely no more babies....it's having four already that makes us think we need more room.....can't imagine where we are going to put 3 teenage boys when they grow!!

Thanks too, skellysgirl. You echo my thoughts exactly. If the seller eventually has to come down on price then it could be an opportunity to buy at a fair price for what we would get.

I am a believer in fate to a degree - if we decide to go for it and put another offer in, lower than the seller wants, if it's meant to be it will be....:)
