The old tenant is giving it to the LL, and the LL is supplying it as part of the tenancy to the next tenant.What's the ruling on a tenant leaving a sofa in the flat when they vacate, and the new tenants ask if they can keep it? Probably fire safe, but no tag.
So it must comply with fire regs.
If there were a fire, and tenant was injured, and it transpired the sofa was NOT fire-safe, LL would be in prison.0 -

I contacted London Fire Brigade at the beginning of June as I went on Fire Marshall Training at work and I've been on the waiting list since then waiting for them to come round to assess my flat.0

Irrelevant. IF IT IS PROVIDED BY THE LANDLORD IT HAS TO COMPLY. Sure, a LL can do this. And sure, if nothing happens there'll be no comeback.
But as I said, if there's a fire, the LL will end up in prison.
Same with a Gas Safety Certificate. If there's no carbon monoxide poisoning, and the tenant never complains, the LL will get away with this and save himself the annual £60 inspection fee. But if there's an accident, he'll go to prison!
Stop trying to take risks with a tenant's life!0
