I am totally confused. We exchanged and completed the same day. A week before Abbey (it was that long ago). Started mucking things around. We only had three weeks from offer to completion. We told them we would go else where and they sorted it within 24 hours. My point being Abbey started playing up after the formal offer. Why would this be a hoax. Mortgage companies do seem to be a law to them selves!0

Sorry for being in Scotland - I did not know this was exclusively for the English0

I'd take some Kalms and do your best to try to chill out. What did your solicitor say on Friday - did you speak to them once you knew you had the extra money? I'm sure it will get sorted out, but you really just have to rely on following your solicitor's advice.0

Thats why in my first response I mentioned Scottish Law.0

I am having to accept lower offer and subsidise the difference and face the financial hardship after I move into the house.0

No. The law is a law unto itself. Hence why its the law. That is why solicitors deal with the legal side of things and they effectively control the dates of exchange/completion. The lender tells the solicitor everything is ready when the offer letter is issued. Until then the lender isnt ready and the solicitor shouldnt finalise the work.Sorry for being in Scotland - I did not know this was exclusively for the English
Have some common sense. Scotland accounts for just 10% of the population of the United Kingdom. What you said in your first post couldnt happen for 90% of the people. You havent added your location and you didnt state you were in Scotland.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. All you are doing is alienating the regulars here and encouraging people not to help you by being rude to them. As such, I check out of this thread.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
