Dear Pink
A New Year, debt free all clued up on money diet and thrifty wayed I feel it is time to pull back the strings even more this year. The target is to cut back on unnecessary spending. Therefore decide to do my shop online rather than be tempted down the aisle.
The first weeks shopping is due in on 6th and I managed to get all we need for £43 including delivery charge. Lets see if I can keep it up.

Hi
I'm joining again this month. Managed to come in at £201.54 for December. New budget for January (1st to 31st) is £180. This is for 4 people. I'm going to use coupons (Have about £7.40 to use up) and a meal planner. I've finally got round to realising (after nearly two years of ready the OS board:D ) that buying a larger chicken will make two meals so it works out cheaper. I also make extra portions when making spag bol or shepherds pie etc and then freeze them for homemade ready meals.
Good luck everyone with the challenge and a Happy New Year

I would like to join this for the first time as well please.
My budget for 2 adults, 17 yr old student lodger and 2 children is £200, but I think I will work on 4 weeks at £50 a week, with any leftover days where we will just have to manage on whatever is left!

Hi everyone:grouphug:
I'm going to give the grocery challenge a try this month.
I've found a purse that i don't use to keep my housekeeping seperate and aim to give £50 a week a try (2 adults during the week and OH at the weekend + cat and large dog.)
Once I get used to keeping the housekeeping seperate I should be able to work out if i can manage on this (I read that you need to start in your comfort zone and then alter as you need to )
Good luck everyone and a Happy New Year:dance:

I'll join in again too - December was a disaster shopping bill wise so I'll start again from today! I have done a stockcheck and we have about 10 main meals worth of food in and I get paid on the 15th so about 2 weeks to last. I'm settng myself a budget of £20 to pick up the necessary bits and pieces (bread, milk, veg etc) from now until the 15th and then £40 a week for the rest of January - £100 in total.
Good luck!0 -
I'm in too. There are 4 adults in my house so I'm aiming for £200 per month but would still like to reduce it further if possible. I decided to give Tescos a miss today (seem to spend most of my life in there and always come out with more than I need) and shopped at LIDLs instead. I spent £17 and got enough food for 4 evening meals, breakfast cereal, and soup, beans and spaghetti for lunches plus bread.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323
