I think so-called improvements to cars can be quite the opposite. Who decided that manually winding down a window was so much effort that it needed to be done by pressing a button??!

I was driving a car recently where the window wouldn't move, and it was stuck half way down with the button not working. Had to take everything out of the car and lug it all around with me as I couldn't very well leave it sitting there within easy reach of everyone! Also I have to drive over some very dodgy bridges sometimes, and the thought does sometimes cross my mind that falling into a deep river and not being able to open the door because of the pressure and not being able to wind the window down because the electrics will probably have failed, would be a seriously bad day ....

With the car submerged, but still with an air pocket inside, then trying to open the window using an old style handle would actually be impossible due to the pressure of the water outside.

If you are that worried just get a life hammer.

those alert caps look great. i don't think we'd end up like the usa if we adopted something automated for tyres. a lot of things in japan are automated - they even have heated, electric toilet seats and bdays, yet they live the longest in the world, and don't have a high proportion of obesity.
