Help Freezer Stopped Working

Hi Guys and gals
I ve recently tiled the kitchen floor. This involved moving the fridge freezer (Hotpoint ffa90). When i put the freezer back in situ ive noticed that this afternoon after approx 24hrs that the freezer is not working. Has this anything to do with it being moved or just a coincidence ?
It now looks like the fridge has also given up the ghost as it is slowly getting warmer. The internal light in the fridge is on so it does not look like a power issue.
Thanks in advance

I'd try turning up the control knob to high.
See if you can here that click when the compressor starts to workLiverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Hi thnx for your quick reply
Not sure where the control knob is we have an electronic display which states the freezer temp is rising now at minus 2 and the fridge temp is also rising 6 degrees and counting.
Hope this makes sense

I was advised f/f needs to be switched off when moving it even a small distance and allowed to "settle" when replaced before switching power on again to prevent damage. I am sure if this was a load of bull, those in the know here will let us know0

If more than a couple of years old, chuck it and get a new one with a warranty.
If new enough, go look up the 5/6 or whatever years rule for electrical goods and get them to fix it.0
