Confused by switching
                    Hello everyone
I am on the EDF standard tariffs for both gas and electric. Uswitch says that the online saver 10 is the best so i log on to EDF to switch direct. This tells me that I will save money and gives me the estimated amount I will sve per year, but the amount I will be charged per month is over double what I pay now! How does this work??! I can't switch if it will mean a higher monthly direct debit!
Thanks for any advice

Are you in arrears with your current account?
Did you use kwh figures? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

No, am in masses of credit. Yes, I gave the kWh consumption over the past 12 months to uswitch.0

Are you putting actual annual kWh consumption figs into the comp sites, rather than monthly DD amounts? Only the former is accurate.
EDF's setting of DD's is notoriously flakey (both over and under). I'd switch, then ring them up with your annual kWh consumption figs and get them to adjust it manually.
Of course it may be that your current DD is too low and not covering your actual consumption? Your DD should be set at 1/12 of your total bill as produced by the comp site.No free lunch, and no free laptop 0 0
