Had composite door fitted without cill

Had composite door fitted today. Supplier advised manufacturer had now allowed for cill at bottom of door, so they will have to get another door with cill to fit. They fitted this door temporarily.
I was wondering how important it is to have the cill???? In that the fitter told me the door fitted today will be sold off to one of the fitters cheap, so I'm wondering if I made the supplier an offer & just kept this door.
Door cost fitted is £1,000. 1) How important is it to have the cill?? and 2) If I make do with this door, how much do you think I should offer??? Thanks

Hi there is no need for a cill on your door the Low threshold or the gold bit at the bottom is perfectly fine as long as you can open and close the door without it catching on the bottom
Just make sure it has drainage holes in the front face of it
As for getting some money knocked off I would be surprised if you did as this is the correct cill for your doorstep
all the best0 -
Thanks, however even the supplier has said its wrong. Perhaps I'm not explaining myself properly. The door should have a rosewood 'cill' at the bottom on the front.....and as the door was made the wrong size, they were unable to fit the cill. Subsequently I was asking the above questions0

Be aware that a rosewood cill will in time get chipped and marked with feet ect standing on it
The metal one you have is a better option see what the will knock off:)0 -
Very happy. Got composite door reduced down to £600 all fitted. And still has full 10 yr warranty.. Very happy bunny today :j
Thanks for the advise on the cill. Suppliers also confirmed to me that the metal cill would NOT let water in, so I'm happy. Really did take your comments on board about rosewood cill. Thanks!0
