Going back to halls for final year?

hi,
what do you think of the idea of going back to halls for my final year?
i live in a house with freinds at the moment (my 2nd year) but next year i have work experience from jan -april. im planning on doing it abroad which means if i go into a house next year, i'l be out of the house for 4 months -including christmas and easter holidays. That means throwing away AT LEAST £1000 on rent for a room i wont be using.
Iv been looking into going back to halls because i can chose the amount of time i spend in halls, so i will only be paying for a room when i use it.
I dont particulary want to go back to halls, but £1000+ is alot of money to just be throwing away, plus in halls all the bills are taken care of, but then again it feels like a step backward and i dont know if i wanna spend my last year in halls!
What do you money saving experts think? Any other options you can think of?
Thanks
Stinky

why don't you rent a non-student room which can have a let for however long you want?0

i'm back in halls for final year after moving uni's to do a degree top up. have to say i'm loving it, although i'm very concerned i will fail because of it. too many distractions, constant drinking, parties and 18 year old's.
If you’re easily persuaded to go out drinking i would avoid it. too much work to do.What's it going to be, eh?0 -
Try and ask for a quiet section/area of the halls/buildings and it will be much more conducive to study success

Hi everyone
this is my first post on this site...n what a fab site it is
Im now a 3rd year mental health student debt free! I dont know how I have done it but I have. Its been hard as im a 30 something lass with a family and dog to support. It proves that if your determined enough to to something then you'll do it:rolleyes: Diets are only cool when your not on one :rolleyes:0 -
You may wish to look at https://www.gumtree.com, through this site you would be able to lease your room while you're away, you just specify when the room is free and most likely someone will get back to you. This way you can keep the room with your friends and no loose out on any money. check it out i think you'll get the idea. Oh and ofcourse you can specify age, gender, student / none student ectSave £12k in 2017 / Dec 2017 Travel Cash = £12,400 / £14,000 88.5%[/COLOR]

I went back into halls for my final year and loved it. It was great not to be surrounded by lots of finalists wanting to study lots plus I got to make a whole new bunch of friends + it was cheaper + no travel costs so I'd highly recommend it.
Yes they could be a bit noisy, but shared houses are too so it wasn't really a factor I considered as both pretty much the same noisewise.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

If you do decide on halls, it is worth checking with the accomodation people about being a senior resident. At my uni, in each set of halls, there is one flat which has 3rd year students in, and in return for organising parties/ helping out freshers, they get half price rent. seems like a pretty good deal to me0
