2 adults and a 7month old....

Hello, I am desperate to get away for a few days, we have a son who is 7 months so dont want to go abroad, we are in our mid 20s. Any ideas where might be nice?

Thank you

Also, does anyone know of any hotels etc where we could maybe take our dog with us?

Haven parks are quite good for UK breaks and you are able to take dogs aswell. what area would you be looking to go to?

We live in Kent and to be fair, we are SO open to where we go- which in turn, makes it harder to find somewhere lol

    Thank you

    hi

    what is the budget ?

Centre Parcs is good for kids but expensive in school holidays, Haven is good for kids - but cheaper but maybe these are both options to consider when you baby is a bit older and can join in more of the activities

What type of activities do you want to do? walking in countryside? Is there anything in particular you would like your baby to experience on the holiday eg teaching you baby to swim? soft play for babies? baby sitting on the beach and feeling the sand?

When our kids were babies we still did the type of holidays we did before kids - camping and walking in the countryside with a nice pub meal at the end of it (babies in high chairs or asleep in pram) before heading back to the tent to share a bottle of wine while the babies slept.....

so i suppose it very much depends on what you enjoy doing and if you can still do it with a 7 month old with you.

    Hi Fabulouso,

I've always found the "Pets Welcome" guide to be very helpful. It lists accommodation from campsites to posh hotels where pets are welcome. Jasper-dog and I have stayed in some lovely B&Bs we've found through them. I found the website for you - http://www.pets-welcome.co.uk/ - but it seems to be not working properly, so maybe try here as well: http://www.dogsinvited.co.uk/.

I'm not a parent, but I'm lucky enough to have a lovely nephew and niece. My brother and sister-in-law had some super holidays when my nephew was about the same age as your little sweetheart. They had a carry-frame similar to this one http://www.mothercare.com/Little-Life-LittleLife-Traveller-Carrier/dp/B001NLJ77M?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_45&nodeId=42764041&sr=1-45&qid=1310937362 and took him everywhere. They've done the whole of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in separate stages, plus various coastal paths and other walks (usually ending in a nice pub for a meal) but, at 7 months, you could get on with whatever you choose and baby + dog will both simply be happy to be a part of what you are enjoying.

Jasper-dog and I love Dartmoor in Devon best, but that might be a fair old trek for you.

Hope you, baby, and dog have a really lovely and relaxing holiday together. xx
