Trying To Reclaim Natwest PPI

I took a loan out about 6 years ago and was in my early 20's and the way the loan was positioned it would only be accepted if I took out the PPI with it. Being a bit naive I signed the document and played the full amount back. The loan was for about 12k but as it ended I don’t have any of the original paperwork or documents.
I can’t find the account number from my loan but I can clearly see on my online account the DD payments form this account as I have an online bank account with NatWest.
As I was looking at the website I noticed they have a section on there for PPI miss sales I am wondering whether to go direct and fill in this questionnaire they have to make a complaint has anyone done this done direct with the bank??? Or am I best going through the process mentioned on here.

You have grounds for making a PPI misselling complaint, so it doesn't really matter how you do it.
Contact the bank (either by letter / phone / website or questionnaire) and give them as much information as you can, then they will begin their investigation.
Good luck

I am having problems trying to figure out how to get a copy of the original paperwork. I signed for this in my local branch. I dont have the old account number as I have finished paying for it. I have the rough dates of when I signed for it. Do I just address my letter to my local branch with my normal account number on asking for the details as per the template letter?0

i had also thrown out all my paperwork and wrote a letter to the ppi department at natwest, they returned a SAR (statutory access request lettr) asking for payment of £10 to get the relevant account numbers.
i didnt want to pay this so popped into the branch where i had originally gotten the loan explained to the customer service desk i needed my account numbers for my closed loans and they said they would ring me back if they could find them. a couple of days later they rang me back with both account numbers and i forwarded a second letter to them, i got no further requests to pay any more money and i managed after a year to get my ppi refund.0 -
HI further to this I have sent a letter asking for the orginal paperwork however I have recieved a letter with the following response:-
"I refer to your letter of 05/09/2011, making a request under s.77(1).
Our policy on to disclosure to cusotmers of information contained in our recrds is that we will comply fully with out legal obligations. These legal obligations arise under the Consumer Credit Act and the Data Protection Act.
Under the CCA we will act on a S. 77(1) or S. 78(1) request if the requlated agreement has not ended.
As the loan has ended we have no obligation to provide the information you request. Accordingly, the fee enclosed with your letter is returned."
Has anyone has this happen to them? What did they do to get round this> In the letter they appear to have inlcluded the account number and sort code of the loan with the start and close date. Can I submit a claim without the original paaerwork as I now have all the details?0 -
If you now have the loan account number, and can clearly explain why you believe the PPI was missold, then you don't really need any paperwork.
One of the main reasons people obtain copies of agreements is to check whether PPI was included and whether there's any evidence they agreed to it. In your case, you already know that PPI was included and you know how it was sold.0
