Sorry benben, I didn't mean to imply that you would take it down the solicitors route, rather that ex might. And I still think you are right not to put DS through that. Just the thought of my child being searched would be enough to make ME refuse.

Sorry to hear this Benben, I kinda got the impression that things had been improving with him, at least at school. Is it just from when your ex has gone to prison that the behaviour has worsened or is it more long term than that. Just trying to pinpoint if that has had an effect, that might be temporary.
hugs mate, very hard for you

Thanks Chev, his teacher said he was fine for the first half-term and since then he has had some kind of issue every day ... things like destroying his work, being unkind to other kids etc, but it always happend when shes not there, when they have a different teacher or its her ppa time (planning), she said he can't cope with change or with having a different adult in charge, all things that have been said before.

They have a teaching assistant in the class who has a daughter with major psychological issues (anorexia/self-harming etc) and she picked up on Ben straight away apparently and said his behaviour was very similar to her daughter at that age  :(

She said its not attention seeking or lack of discipline, its more than that and he needs more professional help :o

She did say about how he loves drama and focuses really well on that so when I got home I have emailed the local kids drama group to see if he can join, but tbh I dread any kind of activities with him as his behaviour is so awful :o:o

    Hugs to you both.

I know a few children who can't cope with a change to routine and their behaviour is noticeably different if they have a different teacher.

At least they acknowledge that there is an underlying issue and it isn't that ds is naughty!

Have been reading a few articles about ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) which is something they said he had tendancies towards when he was assessed a couple of years ago, and he now ticke every single box, the articles could have been written for him, they are exactly describing ds and his behaviour. I will print them off and take them with me to the doctors :o
