Travelodge take payment 3 months after stay

Hi all,

Has anyone else experienced Travelodge taking payment a long time after the booking was made?

I booked two rooms for £51 back in April, for a night in the same week of April.

Nearly 3 months later, I've just noticed Travelodge take a payment for £51. I checked my bank statements and right enough, I can't see a charge for £51 from my debit card around the time I booked or stayed at the hotel, although I havent checked my CC statements yet (cant remember which card I used).

I'm happy to pay if I haven't already, and I'm normally quite good at tracking these things against my statements, but it certainly doesn't seem like it should be normal!

Any ideas?

And this wasn't to do with the hacking - their payment processor accidentally charged a batch of payments twice, really shoddy and not impressed with the bank either.

I booked in May for early June, checked my on-line banking before booking and then again after booking and saw the money had 'gone'.
Wasn't until bank statement arrived recently realised the money was only on hold then and the payment was actually taken on 13th June (around 6 weeks later).
This wasn't my regular bank account so that's why I didn't really take much notice but did send me overdrawn.
