Yes it looks a good site with good prices (compared to B&q etc)

But does anyone know if sales of Greenhouses are seasonable?

ie might I get a bargain if I wait until Autumn or Winter?

Please stay away from gardman greenhouses, iv not long finished building a gardman 6x4 lean to , what a nightmare, the instructions are terrible , learned more from the picture on the box, if you look at the reviews on the net you will find it's a very common complaint, also the quality of the nuts and bolts are terrible, the threads strip very very easily, also had to buy a load of silicon to make the thing water tight, oh and you don't get enough w clips that hold windows in, it does seem sturdy enough mind you lol

Wished I has looked on the greenhouse people website before I bought mines

I've just been looking at Gardman greenhouses. I'll heed your advice and steer clear. I might go for a Hall's one instead. I'll check out the greenhouse people website too. :)

I was watching greenhouse prices last winter to see if they dropped or not. My garden was still being re-done so I wasn't ready to buy one then, I just wanted to see if they went cheaper at that time of the year. To be honest I didn't really see any bargains. Things might be different this year though if retailers have been struggling.
  • I got a fawt octagonal greenhouse from freecycle with no glass then got on ebay and found my glass for £10, after glass cutting its worked out at £35. I have a plastic one and this glass one has worked out to be cheaper! If your willing to bide your time and put in a bit of elbow grease you can get your own for next to nothing

    Just an update.
After checking all the sites out and watching prices and searching for bargain I finally ordered one yesterday from

    http://www.greenhousepeople.co.uk/

On the main page if you scroll to the bottom on the left hand side they have a section "Best Selling Greenhouses" and the first item is a greenhouse package which is reduced from £759 to £499.
It is a Simplicity Classic in green and is 6ft X 8ft, it comes with the base and also some vents, automatic openers, a louvred window and toughened safety glass.
I have not been able to find anything elsewhere to compare. I also ordered the base to be green (to match the greenhouse) and the bar capping upgrade, with delivery and a small discount it will be delivered in 2 to 4 weeks for the total sum of £630.

My only problem now is that it was my birthday yesterday and the wife agreed to me buying the package for £499 as a present and I am just worried about what she will say when she sees the extra £130 disappear from our bank account!

Fortunately I have only paid a deposit and the balance gets paid on delivery, so when she notices and starts moaning I should be safely hidden at the bottom of the garden trying to build a greenhouse!

So thank you all for your advice, especially Bunnygirl for bringing the Greenhousepeople to my attention.
    They get some good reviews.

just read your post and was in the same position as you up until a few days ago - managed to get a 10 by 6 polycarbonate greenhouse with everything from argos - apologies if this is too late but surely if you are happy with argos one then try for a refund as you have money left over to kit it out lol ...............Happy Birthday by the way and dont forget quidco! Delivery is alot quicker too!
