in Loans
I have tried everywhere I can think of for a loan, I have a poor credit rating and got into a financial mess a few years ago and just started to get back on track when my parents moved and had to rent a property. Now I cant afford to get to work or pay rent and am looking for a 1000-2000 loan to help me get back on my feet. I am currently on reduced payments for my debts with the citizens advice so dont need debt consolidation but I'm now at the point where I cant get to work due to having no money for travel and will now lose my job and home unless I can get some cash and fast. my bank has refused me as I am on a step account and cant upgrade to a current account due to my credit score. Any Ideas ?

I have but you're not going to like it.
Stop applying for loans. You're not doing yourself any favours by keep on applying for loans as every search made is making your credit rating worse so making the chances of you getting a loan even less. The fact that you are on reduced payments for your existing debts will lessen your chances even furhter.
Are you claiming all the benefits that you are entitled to? Is there any chance of a work colleague being able to help you with travel in the short term?
Alternatively post all your outgoings (including all debts with aprs, balances and limits) and income on the debt free wanabee board and I am sure that we see ways of saving you £££s to help you out.2014 Target;

Jay sorry to say this, but it's not going to happen.
Stick with the DFW boards as you have been doing. It's the best place to be under the circumstances.
The only solution I can think of short term in terms of getting your £40 per week together for travel to your job is to see if you can get some extra work. Lots of pubs & bars are looking for staff over the New Year period and many pay double time on New Years Eve etc and it could be cash in hand.
It's a short term solution, but you need to get to grips with your SOA as requested and start prioritising your spending.
Take care.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Why have you capitalised the start of every word? Must have taken ages!0 -
How does your reply help the original poster?0

The site software turns posts written all in capitals to the above.
I don't think the site software can do anything about a lack of full stops and line spaces.
You are getting good advice on the DFW board, Jaymarsh.0 -
But the original poster would help us to help him or her if he or she used some punctuation. Bad spelling, punctuation and grammar, together with confusion between the use of words like their/there/they're, your/you're etc do make some posts very difficult to understand. Words like accommodation, definitely, separate are almost always spelled incorrectly. I suppose people just aren't taught English very well these days.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

He/She came here for some guidance and help not an English lesson.
Not all of us are perfect.
Jaymarsh I agree with the other posters in that by trying every loan company you are making things worse. I was in that position a while back and like you was trying everybody, after visiting here and getting some advice I sent off for my credit report to see what I could do to get out of this mess.
When I got it you could tell from the amount of queries and the dates of these that I was obviously desperate and I realised how bad it looked. I have decided to wait for 12 months till all the credit searches have gone and then apply for one loan. But in the meantime I am trying hard not to default on any debts and paying off what I can. So that it makes things even easier to get a loan.
As for getting to work can you not cycle, I now it's not very easy but it would save you money and the environment not to mention the health benefits. If you dont have a bike then maybe you could borrow one from a friend till you are getting back on your feet more financially.
Best of luck and keep ploughing on. I hope you manage to get something sorted.0
