Sat 16th/Sun 17th July What small DFW things will you be doing this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :T

Good morning everyone, and thanks to Candy for starting the thread today.
Yes I know, I've been away for far too long! Life's been getting in the way a bit. A quick update for those who are interested (those who aren't can skip to the end
)
Home life - still difficult. I can't afford to move out, DH can't afford to move out and also has no intention of leaving so we're stuck together until fortunes improve.
I still hate my day job (as you regulars will remember) although it has improved somewhat with a change of role. One day I'll leave.....
......and run my business full-time! The corsetry is going great guns and I currently have four orders. Unfortunately two of those are freebies for my website's two models as I can't afford to give them proper money. I'm in the situation where I don't have enough hours to concentrate on the business, but not enough orders to give up a couple of days in the other job
On to my list. So far I have:- run DW overnight on Economy 7
- run WM overnight on Economy 7
- fed and watered the chickens
- checked for surveys
- checked banking
- paid CC bill online
- make a batch of spicy tomato & lentil soup and freeze in portions
- make a sourdough starter and return to home made bread every day
- clean out chickens in return for some lovely eggies
- look for somewhere to move my ISA with a good introductory interest rate
- spend as much of the day in the sewing room as possible (making a stunning purple shot silk corset for a paying customer
) - encourage DH to do housework as the house is a tip!
- work on my 101 things in 1001 days list as I've only got about 400 days left and about 77 things to do

- all meals from stores - freezer dive tonight
- have an NSD

Stitchy - your business plan sounds good!

I never seem to get time to post in the week But pop in to read and it seems to be keeping me on track so far! Just need to tackle DH.
Today's list:
File bank statements
Return trousers DH bought to Blacks as they don't fit.
Wash the Spaniels.
Resist the Next sale (I don't need work trousers but would like some) I need to stay strong and pay my car off though.
Make DH rung VW and make overpayment (car is in his name)
Tighten up monthly budget (debt free Sept 12) if we can stick to it.
Sort out freezer to make space for the half lamb I bought. Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising
Lloyds loan - gone forever! :T
Bank of Mum and Dad gone forever!
Emergency Fund £1500 :T0 -
Greetings from Bangkok.
My employer has me working in the Thai capital for two days and is paying my travel and hotel bill for one night.
Basically means I won't have my usual Saturday night out in Pattaya (90 miles away) and will save the cost of that at least.
I will send the evening reading, channel hopping or using the Internet instead.0 -
Hello there my lovelies
Thanks for starting us off Candy!
:hello: Stitchy & Josie :hello:
Oooh Pixie - v jealous of you seeing Harry Potter... Hope we get a chance to go soon...
Hi to everyone who pops in later.
My little listypops:- Tidy round like a crazy woman who's busy all week and going on holiday on Friday

- Made some tea and honey ice lollies  tasty little treat

- Bag to CS
- Get in frozen pizza and garlic bread for friend coming over tonight - usually (when I go to hers) we get a £20 takeaway - I'm trying to start a new tradition

- Downloaded some summer reading - 99p :T
- Downloaded a sample of another and then decided just to browse her website http://www.imperfectlynatural.com/
Going to be tough tonight - friend has split up with her hubby and this is the first weekend he's got the baby and she's on her own
Hoping a change of scenery helps a little...

Hi Archer :hello: Yay, hope you enjoy posting with us
I have been known to fall by the wayside but think this does help me remember the good progress I'm making, and generally just like the chat and to hear how everyone else is getting on.
I'm also trying to resist the Next sale... Might just have a little look...

Hello folks.

Pouring with rain here so no chance of going out and spending much. :T
Today: bake some nice nibbles, rather than going out and spending money on the biscuits etc we all seem to be craving.
Get on and post my amazon orders.
Do plenty of Lionbridge work. Am falling behind a bit.
Maybe get back on the ebay waggon.
Check vivatic and onepoll.
PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS
