    Thanks for so many suggestions. I may go for an alarm, though not cheap (costs minimum £175), but hassle free.

    stick it on bricks it won't be going anywhere then unless it gets lifted. Alarms are ok but most people pay very little attention to them only the onwers.
    Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

    The alarm would be a waste of time to be honest as already stated, it's the immobiliser aspect you need to cover;), (by which I mean separate to the manf imob incase there is a spare chipped key out there).

    Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

    Not really when you can have a second siren fitted inside the vehicle, it also has remote locking feature so factory fit remote locking and immobiliser can be disabled in case there is a chipped key out there.

    Also the high end alarms have programmable outputs smoke machine, strobe light, high pitched siren etc
