can anyone tell me how to get rid of air in cold water system the upstairs toilet makes a heck of a noise (enough to have the neighbours complaining) just as the ballcock closes the valve I replaced the whole valve assembly to-night but the noise is no better although it does not seem to be comeing from the toilet its self although the valve does seem to vibrate when the noise occurs

Hi,
Loose jumper or washer in the main stopcock to the house, or maybe another stopcock closer to the loo.
It will not be air in a mains supply.
