bosch dishwasher not working

and I cannot find serial number, I think it was on a sticker on the inside or the door but has come off sometime over the years.Nothing engraved on door.
I went out today at 12noon, switched it on and came home at 3pm, dishwasher still on ! water not pumping out so drained it and cleaned filter, switched back on, still no pumping, tried other program but no water coming in, dishes clean but not hot. Sounds like gurgling when switched on.

I had a similar thing with mine - it would count down to 1 min and then continue running constantly. The first indication it was going wrong was that when it filled up with water, instead of the water shutting off suddenly, it 'bounced' a few times. On the left side of the machine with the side cover off there is a float mechanism which gets coated in black slime. I have to take it apart and clean it now and again. It appears that when it is gunged up, it doesn't allow enough water in to fully operate the heater, so it just runs on and on.

I don't know if this is what's wrong with yours, but I've seen a few people raise it on the internet since. Seems to be a design flaw. You have to be fairly confident at taking things apart to fix it, otherwise you'll need to get somebody in.

The model/serial no should be engraved on the top edge of the stainless steel door inner when you open the door.
