Like I said our local authority are useless, they tried to tell me for another industry I am heavily involved that many things that are not compulsory were in fact compulsory.
i think vehicle size is also a factor in being classed as light haulage or courier/multi drop. i have a LWB transit and i have been told i would be classed as light haulage.
I know if i do decide to do this i will already have a client as one of my current wholesalers are also looking for delivery companies/drivers and have told me that they would use me if i decided to do this. but as yet i have not applied for the paperwork to fill out.0 -
so you would be more bothered if no one was their to collect the package rather than being arrested for carring drugs and ending up in jail.
Well obviously there is a space for goodness in the world still - people who do holiday swaps, hire my garage space, whatever....I would hope people are not put off by the threat of criminal behaviour. How do Parcelforce,TNT or DHL know what they are carrying!?
My point is the day to day couriers may well have meetings to be at by a certain time. Why should they be late waiting for someone at a station?0 -
there is a lot of rubbish above about needing to be registered with your local authority, all you need is the correct insurance and if carrying any hazardous products then you need a dangerous goods licence.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I do happen to agree with this as I still can't find anything concrete that states you NEED a license to become a courier. If you had to HAVE a license from the dept of transport surely it would on there site??Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
