Opinion needed on this netbook please

All I really need it for is going on the internet - the odd bit of wordprocessing and downloading some photos. I am a total numpty when it comes to computers but ours is literally on its last legs and I really dont have much of a budget ! but equally dont want to waste the budget I have.

Usual question, what's the problem with your current machine?

Nice find with that one. I wouldn't really call it a netbook though, more like an old laptop. I'd find out the warranty first.

It'll do everything you want, and the price isn't bad. The screen is big enough but not the best resolution, but you'll be able to live with it. The hard drive will be more than fine for your needs, the memory will be fine for your needs (if not, come on here and we can sort you). It's not the fastest, but it's twice as fast as any 'netbook' and it'll be fine.

It's not a notebook. In fact I'm using one to type this. It's four years old and tough as old boots, it's the same as my work laptop.

The advert does not say if its used or not, so if used expect the battery to need replacing and that may cost neatly as much as the laptop itself.

It really depends on what you want you can get brand new notebooks of similar spec but smaller screen for about another £20 if you shop around.

The hinge has gone on the screen, and the keypad is now playing up so I cant use half the keys ! some of which I need for my password. I had a quote for the hinge a while ago bur as its a compaq I have to buy a complete frame and it was going to cost about £120 just for that !

In the screen before I went onto that one it says that it is new on the buying options. Cant find the warranty details anywhere - but hp give a year from new from googling

Link is here No. 4. Is says Buy New:

Other than it lacking a DVD Writer(has a CD writer and only plays DVDs), it's fine for everyday office use.

I was going to post up saying it was pants, old and give you links to others, but that is a great find, after I read the specs, being a laptop not a netbook (big screen), 64bit and being new with a great price.

    Super Find.
