London day out help!

OK, we are looking at a last minute trip to London - tomorrow! Any help with sorting this would be very much appreciated.
2 x adults and 2 x children (6 and 5).
Travel Grantham to Kings Cross
Looking to depart Grantham between 8am and 9am
Would like a return from Kings Cross open (if not, between 8 and 9pm?)
And we have a Friends and Family Railcard.
Activities:
We would like to see:
Thames
Houses of Parliment
Buckingham Palace
Big Ben
National History Museum
We have no idea where these places are - do wee need the tube/taxi to get to them?
Lastly, if at all possible we would like to see the matinee of Lion King show. Tickets are crazy prices on web - can anyone recommend the best place to get them? (looking for stall seats)
Any questions, please ask!

To make your train journey cheaper to London try this;

But you must change trains at Peterborough on to a First Capital Connect train to London and catch a First Capital Connect train from London to Peterborough on return, Travelcard ticket will give you unlimited underground or bus travel whilst at London.Whoa! If you have some spare cash then;

Go to Waterloo Station on the Tube.You can then walk from the Eye over Westminster Bridge past Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament glimpsing Westminster Abbey, walk down Whitehall passing Downing Street, the Cenotaph, Horseguards Parade you will come into Trafalgar Square. From there it is a short walk either through st. James's Park to Buckingham Palace or through to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.0
