Look in to free day trips, museums, galleries, parks take a picnic ~ you could always use your savings from coffee/crisps to pay the travel costs.
The way I read it you haven't only cut £1000 of your debt this year, you also haven't increased the debt by the normal £6000. Thats 7K better off
