Small Window ideas please

In the process of having our hall & stairs decorated, but I have no idea what to put up the windows (one bottom of stairs on @ top)
The one at the bottom is really close to the wall & the one at the top is wideand thin.
What would look best
Any suggestions??

I have 2 small windows in my cottage (about the same size as the lower pane in your window)_ & I intend on fitting a wooden blind...and nothing else!!! Under 1 I will have a gas/electricity meters in a cupboard so I've ensure there will be power supply so I can add a nice table lamp there.
